{ The warm weather & Kai’s bday | Austin Children’s Photographer }

It got so warm the other day and then boom! It got cold again. ”Welcome to Texas” is what all my neighbors are saying to me. Yes, it’s so true that I’m still a newcomer here. 8 months here in Austin sure has flown by though!

We were down in San Antonio on Thursday night and we ate at a great Hawaiian restaurant. It felt so nice to eat familiar foods that we have missed so much! And my little guy, Kai, got his first little taster of poi.

ALOOOOOOHA to the folks down at Aloha Kitchen for taking such good care of us and helping us get a little “home cooking” from the islands.

It was so warm we went out walking and my daughter, Ryenne, was being such a lil stinker….I think she’s finally had enough of me taking so many pictures of her. I couldn’t get her to pose for me on the Riverwalk… I was so sad. But I did catch her playing peek a boo with me while my hubby was holding her.

And then of course we got home and it was practically 90 degrees so it was essential to get the sprinkler going as Ry demanded she wear her “Babing soup” – that’s bathing suit to the rest of us…

And now it’s back to being cool again and it’s Kai’s 5 month birthday today. I was at a photo shoot today all the way up in Copperas Cove and on the way home I realized it was March 1st and my little guy is growing waaaaay too fast!!

I just recently got little signs for my ride. So wave if you see me!

My baby girl, Ryenne, fishing for her first cat fish…

After cat-fishing, we went cruising around the countryside looking for horses to feed our carrots to. My daughter LOVES horses and we had to let Kai see a horse for the first time. He wasn’t too interested, but the horses loved him! As usual, my dad was my driving partner =)

If you follow my blog, you’ll know about Mr. Sweetie Pie Noah …

Well, I went up to their house for some pregnancy pictures for Noah’s mommy – boy she looks fabulous! It wasn’t too chilly of a day, which was great.

“What’s under there Mama?” heehee

And I adore this one… look closely. We had to bribe him by holding a fire truck. GOTTA LOVE IT!

Of course I had to get Mr. Noah being himself and showing me his cool tractor. =)

The beautiful family of three will soon be a family of four!!! It was awesome to see you guys again – can’t wait to meet Baby Jake in May!!

It was a beautiful day and I met up with Carolyn and Ben at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center for their maternity session. No wildflowers just yet, but the center sure is beautiful and full of texture!

It was so nice to get outside with you guys.. great shoot and I can’t wait to show you the rest! And thanks so much for giving a donation to the Wildflower Center!!

Erin is a friend of a friend and it was great to meet her and her gorgeous family. Little baby girl is arriving later this month and can’t wait to meet her! Doesn’t Erin just look FABULOUS…. I think maybe she should be a model =)

Eva is going to be a big sister!!! She’s sooooo cute. I had to hold her for a little bit cause she’s too adorable and I couldn’t resist. She’s such a sweetheart!

As a photographer, I love capturing images of families, children, and mommies, and couples.

For maternity sessions, they can range from outdoor, fully clothed, to the studio look – seminude or fully nude. And it’s important to know that when I take images such as those, I keep your gallery fully private and will only post a sneak peak if you ask me to.

The blog has been a little quiet cause I’ve had maternity sessions – and will soon have some little newborn sneak peaks!!

So just to tide everyone over, here’s my little 4 month old, Kai. He just learned to grab his feet!

In August of 2008, congress passed the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.) – it is supposed to be to protect us from the recalls we suffered a couple of years ago with toys from China, however, it affects our handmade toys in the U.S. as well.

Effective February 10th, it will become illegal to sell anything intended for children under 12 unless it is tested for lead. Testing is very expensive and most small businesses cannot absorb those costs.

As a huge fan of fun, hand made toys, I would hate to see this happen to small business – especially since our economy needs as much boost as it can get!
